Certificate history:
This certificate is issued as verification that a sample(s), representative of production, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the IEC Standard list below and that the manufacturer's quality system, relating to the Ex products covered by this certificate, was assessed and found to comply with the IECEx Quality system requirements. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx Scheme Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended.
This Unit verification certificate is issued as verification that the Apparatus identified on page 1, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the IEC Standard list below. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx Scheme Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended.
STANDARDS: The electrical apparatus and any acceptable variations to it specified in the schedule of this certificate and the identified documents, was found to comply with the following standards:
As this is a Unit Verification Certificate, no QAR is applicable as this certificate is specific to the items listed by serial number or other unique identification.
The Surge Voltage Protection Units, PLUGTRAB PT 4-EX(I)-24DC-ST, PLUGTRAB PT 2xEX(I)-24DC-ST, TERMITRAB TT-ST-M-EX(I)-24DC, TERMITRAB TT-EX(I)-24DC and TERMITRAB TT-EX(I)-M-24DC serve to limit eventual surge voltages in intrinsically safe circuits.PLUGTRAB PT 4-EX(I)-24DC-ST and PLUGTRAB PT 2xEX(I)-24DC-ST consist out of a fixed mounted part and a plug-in unit provided with a (for each Unit Model) unique mechanical key.The open side of TERMITRAB TT-ST-M-EX(I)-24DC is closed by cover type TT-D-ST-BU. With that a degree of protection IP20 is obtained. Several units for different intrinsically safe circuits may be mounted next to each other. The earth connection can be made via the mounting foot to a normalized metal mounting rail and via a terminal. The attachment provides the thermal and electrical data.
The insulation between the intrinsically safe circuits and earth is not capable of withstanding a 500 Vac test voltage, however this is only caused by the 600 V (TERMITRAB) or 700 V (PLUGTRAB) gas tube. For application in explosive dust atmospheres:The Surge Voltage Protection Unit shall be installed in an enclosure which as a minimum complies with the requirements of IEC 60079-0 for electrical equipment of Group III, providing a degree of protection of at least IP6X in accordance with IEC 60529. For application in explosive gas atmospheres:The Surge Voltage Protection Unit shall be installed in an enclosure providing a degree of protection of at least IP20 in accordance with IEC 60529. When the environmental conditions are such that a higher degree of protection is required, this shall be taken into account.
