EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:

An Air-to-Water Cooled Cage Induction Motor. The motor, of shaft height 1100mm, is rated at 22 pole, with a corresponding output of 2700kW and is designed for connection to a 12000V, 3 phase, 60Hz supply.

The motor is continuously rated for S1 Duty when connected to a 3 phase supply having form and symmetry not worse than that defined in EN 60034-1 and operated within the defined voltage limits for Zone A and defined frequency limits for Zone A.

The mechanical design of the motor is in accordance with the IECEx BAS09.0009X.

The motor is fitted with space heaters to IECEx BAS06.0081U, and RTDs.

All terminal boxes are in accordance with the motor range certificate IECEx BAS09.0009X except the main terminal box which has been assessed as part of this motor certification.

Ambient temperature range -20°C to +40°C.

CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION: YES as shown below:

1.  The anti-condensation heaters must be interlocked to prevent operation whilst the motor is energised. The heaters are not to be exposed to an ambient temperature greater than 110oC, and the heater supply must not exceed 120V r.m.s.

2.  The cable entry devices used on the terminal arrangements shall be suitably certified and maintain the IP54 minimum of the enclosures. Unused cable entries must be filled with suitably certified stopping plugs.

3.  Any conditions or limitations stated on the Certificate documents of a component fitted to the motor, which affects the safe use of the motor, shall apply. This information shall be supplied by the motor manufacturer.

4.  The machines are supplied with insulated bearings. The user is responsible for checking the effectiveness of such insulation at appropriate intervals; e.g. by the use of a 100V insulation tester and by visual inspection to ensure that no unpainted/unearthed metal can be shorted to earth.

5.  The anti condensation heaters must be used whenever the motor is de-energised

6.  The RTDs must be connected as part of an intrinsically safe circuit.
