EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:
 
The range of tube cooled motors of frame size 562 to 716 comprises a stator frame, endshields, terminal interface plate main and auxiliary terminal boxes all fabricated from sheet steel. The single ended drive shaft has an external cooling fan at the non drive end.  All cover fasteners are grade 12.9 steel. 

The frames can be provided with a terminal necks and adaptor plates for up to three main and accessory terminal boxes. The terminal boxes may be flameproof enclosures within the provisions of this report or sheet steel increased safety terminal boxes to IECEx BAS 10.0066U. Cable glands to IECEx SIR 09.0042X and cable bushings to IECEx PTB 06.0081U are provided between the motor frame and the main terminal box and between the motor frame and auxiliary terminal box respectively. 

The 2 pole motors have sleeve bearings, and the 4 pole to 12 pole motors may be provided with rolling element bearings or sleeve bearings. The motors are foot mounted for horizontal use only, or the motors provided with rolling element bearings can be drive end flange mounted for vertical use.

The 2 pole to 12 pole motors are rated up to 13.8 kV 50/60Hz or 11kV when provided with increased safety terminal boxes, and have a maximum rating as indicated below for use in a maximum ambient temperature of 40oC. The motors are de-rated in accordance with table 9 of IEC60034-1 for use in a maximum ambient temperature of 60oC.

The motors are continuously rated for S1 duty when connected to a 3 phase supply having form and symmetry not worse than that defined in IEC 60034-1 and operated within the defined voltage and frequency limits for Zone A.

Cable entry holes are provided as specified on the certified drawings for the accommodation of flameproof cable entry devices, with or without the interposition of a flameproof thread adapter. Unused entries are to be fitted with certified flameproof stopping plugs.
The cable entry devices, thread adapters and stopping plugs shall be suitable for the equipment, the cable and the conditions of use and shall be certified as Equipment (not a Component).
 
CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION: YES as shown below:
 
1. The motors are provided with flamepath gaps which are less than those permitted by IEC60079-1 and shall not be enlarged in service.

2. When increased safety terminal boxes are provided, the motors are limited to a maximum voltage of 11kV. 

3. When used on variable frequency supplies, the thermal protection devices must be connected to a protection circuit to de-energise the machine in the event of operation of the protection devices.

DETAILS OF CERTIFICATE CHANGES (for issues 1 and above):
 
Variation 3.1 

Addition of a neutral terminal box, the neutral terminal box is a flameproof enclosure within the provisions of this certificate.

The contents of the box include three current transformers, a terminal block, terminal facilities and a bus-bar.Internal and external earth terminals are provided.

Cable glands to IECEx SIR 09.0042X are provided between the motor frame and the neutral terminal box.

Cable entry holes are provided as specified on the certified drawings for the accommodation of flameproof cable entry devices, with or without the interposition of a flameproof thread adapter. Unused entries are to be fitted with certified flameproof stopping plugs.

The cable entry devices, thread adapters and stopping plugs shall be suitable for the equipment, the cable and the conditions of use and shall be certified as Equipment (not a Component).
