EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:
 
The DLNEX-A XXX Cable Glands are intended for use with an effectively filled and circular, single wire armoured, steel basket weave armoured or braided (screened) lead sheathed cable and comprises the following components, the metal components of which may be nickel plated to suit application:-

a.             An entry component, in the size range (M20 to M100)
b.             A displacement sealing ring
c.             A combined compression spigot, armour clamping cone and electrical connection clip
d.            An armour clamping ring for steel wire armour cable
e              An armour clamping ring for steel basket weave armour or braided(screened) cable 
f.              A middle nut
g.            An outer displacement seal
h.            A back nut

The glands may be manufactured in brass or stainless steel (except for the seals) and may be supplied with specified alternative entry thread forms NPT to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1. 

The XXX is used to define the size of cable gland e.g. 20a, 25 etc.

 

 
CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION: YES as shown below:
 
1. These glands are suitable for use within an operating temperature range of -60°C to +100°C.

2. When the gland is used for increased safety or dust protection, the entry thread shall be suitably sealed, in accordance with IEC 60079-14, to maintain the ingress protection rating of the associated enclosure.

3. Glands for use with braided (screened) cables or armoured cables having an armour diameter less than 0.2mm are only suitable for fixed installations, the cable for which must be effectively clamped to prevent pulling and twisting.

4. The electrical connection between the lead sheathing and the gland shall not be critical to the function/safety of the attached equipment (i.e. not the sole earth bonding connection).
