This certificate is issued as verification that a sample(s), representative of production, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the IEC Standard list below and that the manufacturer's quality system, relating to the Ex products covered by this certificate, was assessed and found to comply with the IECEx Quality system requirements. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx Scheme Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended.
This Unit verification certificate is issued as verification that the Apparatus identified on page 1, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the IEC Standard list below. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx Scheme Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended.
The electrical apparatus and any acceptable variations to it specified in the schedule of this certificate and the identified documents, was found to comply with the following standards:
As this is a Unit Verification Certificate, no QAR is applicable as this certificate is specific to the items listed by serial number or other unique identification.
The Resistance Repeater Type KCD2-RR-Ex1 is designed to transfer a resistance value from a hazardous area to unspecified apparatus located in a non-hazardous area. The hazardous area circuit is galvanically isolated from the non-hazardous area circuit using transformers and the voltage and current appearing at the hazardous area connection pins is limited to intrinsically safe levels. The Resistance Repeater Type KCD2-RR-Ex1 comprises a number of electronic components including three isolating transformers, fuses, zener diodes and resistors all mounted on a single printed circuit board and housed in a plastic enclosure with removable terminals. An LED provides power status indication. This certificate covers the installation of the Resistance Repeater Type KCD2-RR-Ex1 (IECEx BAS 10.0024) in a Category 3 / Zone 2 location.See Annex for electrical data.
1. The Resistance Repeater Type KCD2-RR-Ex1 must be installed in a suitably certified enclosure such that it is afforded a degree of protection of at least IP54 in accordance with IEC 60529 and IEC 60079-15.
Variation 1.1To permit the use of Phoenix spring terminal plugs as an alternative to the screw terminal plug. Units fitted with the spring terminal plugs will have the addition of “.SP” to the type name i.e. KCD2-RR-Ex1.SP.Variation 1.2To confirm that the equipment covered by this certificate has been reviewed against the requirements of IEC 60079-0:2007 and IEC 60079-15:2010 in respect of the differences from IEC 60079-0:2004 and IEC 60079-15:2005 and that none of these differences affect this equipment; the equipment is now marked as follows:Ex nA II T4 Gc (-20°C ≤ Ta ≤ +60°C)
