EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:
 
Description:
 
The floodlights type PX04**** and type PXI04**** consist of the following:
- a lamp enclosure with lamp socket and reflector manufactured to meet the requirements of the type of protection Flameproof Enclosure ‘d’ and
- a junction box for connecting the external cable, depending on the cable entry manufactured according to the type of protection Flameproof Enclosure ‘d’ or Increased Safety ‘e’.
Additionally, some variants feature a compensation box – manufactured according to the type of protection Flameproof Enclosure ‘d’ – to allow external components to be mounted, for example electronic ballasts, ignition devices or capacitors.
This compensation box may be replaced by an enclosure of either type EJB 110, 120 or 130 of type of protection Flameproof Enclosure ‘d’ into which several ballasts and capacitors can be mounted.
The floodlight variants type PX04**** and PXI04**** in conjunction with the enclosure type EJB are only suitable for use in potentially explosive gas atmospheres.
 
The glass window of the lamp enclosure is sealed into its frame by means of a compound. Together with the floodlight enclosure the frame is defined as a flameproof flat joint. Electric power is supplied by cable glands separately certified for this purpose.

CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION: YES as shown below:
 
The widths of the flameproof joint of this apparatus are in parts longer than required by Table 3 of
IEC 60079-1:2007. Information on the dimensions has to be obtained from the manufacturer.
 
The floodlight can only be used if mounted horizontally (ceiling mounting). Relevant hints in the instruction manual have to be observed.
 
Only such components (bushings, cable glands, connecting parts) are permitted for mounting that meet the technical status of the standard stated on the front page; furthermore, the components have to be suitable for the ambient conditions of use and separately certified.
 
In order to close the flameproof compartment screws have to be used that comply at least with strength category A2-70.
