Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows

The intrinsically safe smartphone INNOVATION 2.0 and 2.1 is designed for voice and data communications in explosion hazardous areas of zone 1, 2, 21 and 22. It is equipped with cameras (only type 2.0), GPS, Dual-SIM, Bluetooth,touchscreen, PTT, optional lone worker protection and NFC technology. The software is based on the Android-operating system.
The permitted ambient temperature is -20°C to +60°C.

The power supply of the smartphone consists of a battery pack mounted on the back of the phone. The battery pack contains a Li-ion cell and  a current and power-limiting safety circuit. The battery pack is charged, without being removed, via an USB jack in the base unit or with two charging contacts on the bottom of the device.

The smartphone may only be used with the intrinsically safe battery pack BPI02A made by MOBILE GmbH.
 U0 = 3,8 V (U0_max = 4,2V), I0 = 1,2 A, P0 = 4,56 W

The smart phone features an USB interface for charging and data transfer. Connection is only allowed outside ex-hazardous areas and only with the MOBILE PROTECTOR USB-cable or other accessories specified by MOBILE GmbH. Opening the interface covers in explosive atmospheres is not permitted.
Difference between the two versions 2.0 and 2.1:
Version 2.0 is provided with two cameras.
Version 2.1 does not have a camera.


The battery pack may be changed or charged outside ex-hazardous areas only. The test for impact according to EN60079-0 Clause 26.4.2 was done only with low impact energy. The device must be protected from impacts with high impact energy.

The permitted ambient temperature is -20°C to +60°C.
