The type HDE5 315 Frame motor is designed for use in potentially gas explosive atmospheres. It has several electrical ratings in same frame. It is a totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) asynchronous motor. The cooling of a TEFC-motor is provided by an external air fan cooling the frame. The type HDE5 315 Frame motor consists of a motor housing and three-parts terminal box (one part optional). The frame and terminal box are made of steel fabricated. The external fan is made of conductive polypropylene. The type of HDE5 315 Frame are designed for electrical ratings within the following limits:
HDE5 314-66E : 200kW, 6P, 6600V, 24.9A, 60Hz, F Class, S1, Tamb=-20~+50℃
HDE5 314-26E : 250kW, 2P, 6600V, 25.3A, 60Hz, F Class, S1, Tamb=-20~+50℃
HDE5 311-45E : 210kW, 4P, 3300V, 45.7A, 60Hz, F Class, S1, Tamb=-20~+50℃
HDE5 310-45E : 132kW, 4P, 3300V, 28.9A, 60Hz, F Class, S1, Tamb=-20~+50℃
The other mechanical parts of the motor are no change. So only thermal tests are carried out to these motors.
The temperature rise tests were carried out at each rated power according to IEC60079-0 and IEC 60079-1. The motor was tested at the unfavourable voltage between 90% to 110% of nominal voltage. The temperature values are taken after the test run was stabilized. All the test results are described in evaluation record and temperature rise test report.
Air–cooling is provided by means of a fan mounted on the motor shaft on the N-end and outside of the enclosure. The fan is made of conductive polypropylene. But it can be made of brass, aluminum or steel fabricated.
