Certificate history:
This certificate is issued as verification that a sample(s), representative of production, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the IEC Standard list below and that the manufacturer's quality system, relating to the Ex products covered by this certificate, was assessed and found to comply with the IECEx Quality system requirements. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx Scheme Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended.
This Unit verification certificate is issued as verification that the Apparatus identified on page 1, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the IEC Standard list below. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx Scheme Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended.
STANDARDS: The electrical apparatus and any acceptable variations to it specified in the schedule of this certificate and the identified documents, was found to comply with the following standards:
As this is a Unit Verification Certificate, no QAR is applicable as this certificate is specific to the items listed by serial number or other unique identification.
The Field Barrier Type ID comprises two identical sections which may be used for two separate intrinsically safe circuits. Each section is intended to provide two connections for a supply and a diode return path. Although the shunt zener diode barrier channels rely on a Safe Area external earth connection, this is not usually available for the hazardous area apparatus. The circuit components are mounted on a printed circuit board and this is encapsulated within an Ex d enclosure. The Safe Area (Non intrinsically safe) connections to the barrier enter the enclosure via an Ex d cable gland and are terminated at terminal blocks which emerge from the encapsulation in the terminal chamber. Two internal terminals are provided for the Safe Area Earth connection in addition to an external earth connection. The Hazardous Area (intrinsically safe) output wires emerge from the base of the metallic Ex d enclosure, since the barrier assembly is intended to be mounted directly on the outer wall of other equipment. The barrier enclosure provides a degree protection of at least IP20 to the encapsulated circuit and the Hazardous Area intrinsically safe output wires are intended to be terminated at terminals within the external equipment. For Output Parameters See Annex.
