EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:

The DH5-xBxxxx DECT Handset, which is sold under a number of brand names, is a battery-powered, hand-held, wireless device that communicates with a base station.  The frequencies used depend on the country of intended use.

The DH5-xBxxxx comprises a single printed circuit board with a liquid crystal display mounted on it, housed in a PC/ABS enclosure with a polycarbonate window.  The device is powered from a single lithium-ion cell, part number 660274, which may be recharged only when the unit is located in the non-hazardous area.  During the charging operation, communication also occurs with a base station.  The maximum charging voltage (Um) is 5.25 V and the maximum charging current (Im) is 1.15 A and only the following chargers approved by Ascom may be used:
*  DC3-xxxB/1A (or greater)*  DC4-xxxB/3A (or greater)*  CR3-xxxB/2A (or greater)
Removal of the battery pack can only be undertaken when the device is in the non-hazardous area.
There is an output to a suitably-certified headset; the safety description at this connector is:
Uo = 4.2 V
Io = 0.169 A
Po = 0.629 W
Co = 2.2 mF
Lo = 2.2 mH

CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION: NO

DETAILS OF CERTIFICATE CHANGES (for issues 1 and above):

Issue 1 – this Issue introduced the following changes:
1An increase in the output current of the current-limiting circuits from 155 mA to 169 mA, with a resulting change to the safety description at the headset connector.
2Minor modification to a marking drawing to allow a more generic numbering system was approved.
Issue 2 – this Issue introduced the following changes:
1The main circuit was modified, this involved changing component values, the removal/addition of components and the introduction of additional capacitance; these modifications also included changing the main board artwork.
2Minor editorial drawings changes were recognised.
Issue 3 – this Issue introduced the following changes:
1Changes to four components that are not safety-critical were approved.
2Minor editorial changes to drawings reflecting the above changes and incorporating changes to the parts lists.
