EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:
 

The flameproof terminal box with installed electronic barriers

type P2-2LH, P2-4LH, KLEMP2-2LHD or KLEMP2-2LPAD is used for the connection of non intrinsically safe supply and signal circuits and an intrinsically safe signal circuit.
The barriers limit the voltage, current and power of the non intrinsically safe supply and signal circuits to intrinsically safe values.
The intrinsically safe circuits may be connected to the electronics in an attached housing for intrinsically safe apparatus of the company VEGA Grieshaber KG.
The intrinsically safe circuits of the barriers type P2-2LH and P2-4LH are galvanically connected with the non intrinsically safe circuits.
The intrinsically safe circuits of the barriers type KLEMP2-2LHD and KLEMP2-2LPAD are safe galvanically separated from the non intrinsically safe circuits.

 

The permissible ambient temperature range is -50°C … 60°C

The intrinsically safe signal circuit of the barrier type KLEMP2-2LHD and KLEMP2-2LPAD is safely galvanically separated from the non intrinsically safe circuits up to the peak crest value of the voltage of 375 V.

 

Hints for the installation

1.      The overpressure routine test is not required, because it was carried out a successful type test at 4 times the reference pressure

2.      The flameproof terminal box (Ex-d connection room) of this equipment must be provided with cable entries and filler plugs resp. conduits which are certified according to IEC 60 079-0 and IEC 60 079-1.

3.      The connection cables, the cable entries and filler plugs resp. the conduits have to be suitable for the lowest ambient temperature.

4.      The PA terminal of the Ex-d connection room with the barrier type P2-2LH and type P2-4LH (internal or external screw terminal) has to be connected with the potential equalization of the explosion hazardous area.

5.      The intrinsically safe supply and signal circuits of the barriers type KLEMP2-2LHD and

KLEMP2-2LPAD are safe galvanically separated from the non intrinsically safe signal circuits up to a peak crest value of the voltage of 375 V.

The intrinsically safe signal circuits of the barriers type P2-2LH and P2-4LH are galvanically connected with the earth potential.

6.      The maximum values for Co and Lo are also allowed to be used up to the permissible limits as concentrated capacitances and as concentrated inductances.

7.      The intrinsically safe signal circuits of the barriers type P2-2LH and P2-4LH have to be safely isolated from conductive parts at earth potential.
