Schedule

EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:

The Series 7 Proximity Switches are rated up to 240V a.c., 2A or 24V d.c., 0.5A and comprise a tubular stainless steel enclosure in a variety of body styles, with an 5/8 UNF, 1” UNS or M18 external male thread and a thin section wall at the front end. The rear end of the enclosure is a hexagonal section with a 1/2 NPT or M20 female thread for connection to conduit or a suitable cable entry device. The  integral connection leads exit the enclosure via a potted seal assembly within the rear entry.

The internal cavity contains a magnetically operated switch assembly.

An internal earth connection is provided by one of the integral conductors. External earth bonding may be achieved by either the external switch mounting thread or by the rear cable entry thread.

Variation 0.1

An alternative Type 75 body style with a male ½” NPT mounting thread at the rear.

Variation 0.2

An alternative high temperature option (incorporating Teflon or PEEK insulated leads only) with a T3 Temperature Classification for use in an ambient temperature range of -40oC to +150oC

CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION: YES as shown below:

1.  The integral supply cables must be mechanically protected and terminated in a suitable terminal or junction facility. 2.  An external earth bonding connection may be maintained by either the external mounting thread and/or the internal cable gland/conduit entry thread.

DETAILS OF CERTIFICATE CHANGES (for issues 1 and above):

Variation 4.1

Amendment to the ambient temperature/temperature class combinations, including the introduction of a T4/T135°C option and a common -40°C lower ambient.

Variation 4.2

The equipment covered by this certificate has been reviewed against the additional design and test requirements of IEC 60079-0: 2011 and IEC 60079-1: 2007, together with a review against the requirements of IEC 60079-31: 2008 for dust hazards (superseding EN 61241-0 & EN 61241-1).

The units may be marked with the following amended coding:-

                              Ex d IIC Gb  T6 (-40°C ≤ Ta ≤ +50°C)
                                              or T4 (-40°C ≤ Ta ≤ +100°C)
                                              or T3 (-40°C ≤ Ta ≤ +150°C)
                              Ex tb IIIC Db T85°C (-40°C ≤ Ta ≤ +50°C) IP66
                                               or T135°C (-40°C ≤ Ta ≤ +100°C)
                                               or T200°C (-40°C ≤ Ta ≤ +150°C)

Variation 4.3

Introduction of a Type 74 Series Switch.

This switch comprises a cylindrical stainless steel body tube with an external 5/8-18 UNF (or M18x1) mounting thread, and includes an integral ‘Niltox’ cable exiting from the rear. There is no female conduit connection thread at the rear.

This assembly is to be marked with a T6/T85°C (-20°C ≤ Ta ≤ +50°C) Temperature Class/ambient option only.

Variation 4.4

Introduction of alternative CX and DX body styles. These styles have a similar profile to the existing Type 73/7G Series switches with an extended ‘probe’ portion at the front (sensing) end.
