EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:
 
The switch enclosure is manufactured from steel.  No welding is used on the enclosure except to secure the M6 plug on the side of the enclosure, which forms a separate flameproof threaded joint.  The flameproof enclosure is approximately 144mm wide x 206mm long x 82mm high.  It has a spindle protruding from the side for actuating the internal switch and a threaded entry (M36 x 1.5 x 6H) on the opposite side of the spindle and on the opposite top end of the enclosure.  The threaded entry on the opposite end is used for the nut and elastomeric seal of the straight gland construction certified in IECEx TSA 06.0030U to form an integral gland.

The cover is secured with six recessed M10 x 1.25 x 25mm socket head cap screws.

 
CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION: YES as shown below:
 
Conditions of certification / manufacture:  
  • It is a condition of certification that a copy of drawing 5100006014, Instructions and a copy of the Certificate must be provided with each enclosure.
  • The integral gland cable requirements, including size and torque requirements as per IECEx TSA 06.0030U approval, must be made available to the end user.
Special conditions of use: 
  • Only a suitably certified gland or blanking plug may be used in the threaded side entry.
  • The integral gland cable requirements, including size and torque requirements must be met as supplied by the manufacturer. 
  • Some flamepaths are in excess of the minimum design allowances of the standard and must be considered during maintenance / repair, using the information supplied by the Manufacturer.
  • The enclosure is machine mounted and the mounting shall be such as to ensure proper electrical connectivity to the machine, such that the enclosure is electrically bonded to the machine.
