EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:
 

  
The Flowmeters Type Prowirl 72...-............ and Type Prowirl 73...-............ are used to convert the flow of a gas, fluid or vapour into an electrical signal, using the Karman Vortex principle.
Depending on the type, the flowmeters have following variations:
-  single or dual sensor;
-  transmitter electronics with 4 - 20 mA current loop with HART protocol and optional
   pulse output or with Fieldbus connection (either Profibus PA or Fieldbus Foundation);
-  sensor and transmitter electronics in compact version, or separately mounted;
-  the sensor flowmeter type Prowirl 73...-............ is additionally provided with a temperature sensor.
Optionally, a display with control function may be provided.
 
The Flowmeters and sensors of equipment group II are classified into zones in accordance with the following tables:

Both the compact and the remote version may also be installed with both the transmitter and the sensor in Zone 0 and/or Zone 1 as indicated, but with the interior of the measuring tube in Zone 21. The marking listed above applies in this case as well.
 
The wiring of the flowmeter, the transmitter and the sensor is suitable for use in Zone 0.
 
The enclosures of the compact versions of the flowmeter and of the transmitter and the sensor of the remote versions provide a degree of protection of at least IP 67 in accordance with IEC 60529.
 
Routine tests

The supply and signal transformers in the transmitter electronics shall be subjected to a dielectric strength test in accordance with clause 8.2 of IEC 60079-11, with a test voltage of 1500 Vac during one minute.

Installation instructions

For the installation of the Flowmeter Type Prowirl 72 and Prowirl 73 such that inside the measuring tube an explosive gas mixture is present continuously or for long periods, the Safety Instructions shall be observed.

When the terminal compartment is in type of explosion protection flameproof enclosure "d", or if the apparatus is used in a potentially explosive atmosphere caused by the presence of combustible dust/air mixtures, certified cable entries shall be used that are suitable for the application and correctly installed.

Unused apertures shall be closed with suitable certified blanking elements.

Special conditions for safe use

Only for the flowmeter Type Prowirl 7*****-*****1/2/3/G/F***** which is intended for the use in Zone 0, the marking of the certificate IECEx KEM 06.0008X is necessary. If the apparatus is used in a Zone 0 the Flowmeter and/or the remote Sensor which are made of aluminium alloy must be installed so that operational impact or friction between the enclosure and iron/steel is excluded.
