 EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows
 
 

The FC4 Range of Enclosures comprises Control Stations and Junction Boxes. The models covered by this certificate are listed in the Annex.

The apparatus enclosures are of die cast aluminium alloy (AC601) or cast iron (Grade 150) construction. Each model has either a FC4 base or a FC4/5 base and a cover. Options for covers (refer Annex) are available depending on the model number and application. The cover is fixed to the base using M6 stainless steel fasteners. Each cover can be fitted with a combination of separately certified modules and/or blanking elements. Threaded entries are provided in the sidewall of the enclosures for the use of separately certified cable glands and/or blanking elements.

The maximum gap of cylindrical joints shall not exceed 0.15 mm for Group IIB applications.

The M6 socket head cover fasteners shall have a minimum yield stress of 450 MPa (Property Class 70).

Allowable power dissipation is listed in Table 3 (refer Annex).

The temperature classification or maximum temperature and cable insulating rating are listed in Table 4 (refer Annex).

Routine pressure testing on the model FC4TC enclosure shall be carried out, in accordance with clause 16 of IEC 60079-1: 2003, at a pressure of not less than 1244 kPa. All other models are exempt from routine pressure testing as the apparatus enclosures passed the four times overpressure test.

In order to maintain the degree of protection of IP66 for the enclosure, separately certified cable glands, blanking elements and modules shall have a degree of protection rating of at least IP66.
