The galvanically isolated barrier KC.. series (KCD2-STC-Ex1.HC, KCD2-STC-Ex1.HC.SP, KCD2-SCD-Ex1.HC and KCD2-SCD-Ex1.HC.SP) is a group of associated apparatus suitable to interface intrinsic safety apparatus placed in hazardous area.
The modules KCD2-STC-Ex1.HC(.SP) provide supply for 2 wire 4..20mA transmitters located in hazardous area (input side) and transfer the signal to the control safe area (output side) as 4..20mA current source/sink or 1..5V voltage output. Additionally the input shall also be able to measure the signal from an active current source.
The modules KCD2-SCD-Ex1.HC(.SP) transfers a 4…20 mA signal from the control safe area (input side) to the hazardous area (output side) to drive smart I/P converters, electrical valves or positioners. On both the devices, a digital SMART communication may be superimposed on the analogue values in the input or output side and may be transferred in both directions.
