This certificate is issued as verification that a sample(s), representative of production, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the IEC Standard list below and that the manufacturer's quality system, relating to the Ex products covered by this certificate, was assessed and found to comply with the IECEx Quality system requirements. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx Scheme Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended.

STANDARDS:
The electrical apparatus and any acceptable variations to it specified in the schedule of this certificate and the identified documents, was found to comply with the following standards:

IEC 60079-0 : 2011
Edition: 6.0
Explosive atmospheres - Part 0: General requirements
IEC 60079-18 : 2009
Edition: 3
Explosive atmospheres Part 18: Equipment protection by encapsulation "m"
IEC 60079-7 : 2006-07
Edition: 4
Explosive atmospheres - Part 7: Equipment protection by increased safety "e"

This Certificate does not indicate compliance with electrical safety and performance requirements other than those expressly included in the Standards listed above.

Schedule

EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:

The PMF Position Indicator is designed to provide an electrical signal which gives an indication of the mechanical position of an external magnet. This signal may take the form of incremental changes in resistance over the full measurement range and in addition the indicator offers independent switching zones at various defined positions along the length of a stainless steel measurement tube.

The outer stainless steel measurement tube contains an inner insulating tube which contains an encapsulated, printed circuit board. The printed circuit board has a resistive ladder network, with reed switches actuated by the external magnet. The printed circuit board is also fitted with reed switches placed at pre-defined positions and may be used to switch an external circuit at specific positions of interest along the length of the measurement tube. The full length of this inner insulating tube, including the printed circuit board, resistive ladder network and all the reed switches, is encapsulated.

External electrical connections to the switches and ladder network are made at seven terminals, within a circular IP67 stainless steel junction box fitted with a screwed lid and gasket, which is locked with a grub screw. A separate earth terminal is provided for an earth connection if required, but this is not required for the safety of the circuit. The terminals are suitable for customer cables with conductors having a cross section area of between 0.5mm2 and 2.5mm2 Cables enter the junction box via a suitably certified Ex e cable gland and must maintain IP67.

Variation 0.1

To permit the ladder network to be omitted from the PMF Position Indicator and two alternative switch patterns to form PMG and PMH Position Indicators.

See Annex for details of the PMG and PMH Position Indicators and the Input parameters for all units

DETAILS OF CERTIFICATE CHANGES (for issues 1 and above):

Variation 2.1

To confirm that the PMF, PMG and PMH Position Indicators comply with the requirements of IEC60079-0:2011 Ed 6, IEC60079‑7:2006 Ed 4 and IEC60079-18:2009 Ed 3 and may now be considered to be coded:-

Ex e mb IIC T3/T4/T5 Gb (-50°C ≤ Ta ≤ 80°C/70°C/40°C)

The rated input limits for the PMF Position Indicators, the Resistive Ladder network at Un = 24V and for the PMF, PMG and PMH Position Indicators, the Switch Circuits at Un = 176V with a total switched load limited to 50W, remain unchanged.

The front sheet of the Certificate is corrected to show the Type of protection as Reliability and Encapsulation
