EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:
 

The Newlog GS is a data logger designed to monitor the flow and pressure of gas for use in network distribution and consumption applications.  It has provision for the connection of one simple apparatus device, up to five digital inputs, two digital control outputs (all at the I/O port), one analogue input (COMMS port) and three pressure inputs.  It is powered by a single 3.9 V non-rechargeable lithium battery pack that is replaceable by the user in the hazardous area whilst the equipment is live.  The Newlog GS is housed in an IP54 rated enclosure with external connections being provided for the termination of electrical inputs/outputs from other suitably-approved external equipment, in addition to the attachment of pressure sources

CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION: YES as shown below:
 

1.

Only a 9R3000 battery pack, supplied by Technolog, is permitted as a replacement.  This battery pack is intrinsically safe and may be replaced by the user in the hazardous area whilst the equipment is live.
2.Under certain extreme circumstances, the non-metallic parts incorporated in the enclosure of this equipment may generate an ignition-capable level of electrostatic charge.  Therefore the equipment shall not be installed in a location where the external conditions are conducive to the build-up of electrostatic charge on such surfaces.  In addition, the equipment shall only be cleaned with a damp cloth.
3.If a charge-generating mechanism is present, the metallic pressure manifold is capable of storing a level of electrostatic charge that could become incendive for IIC gases.  Therefore, the user/installer shall implement precautions to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge, e.g. earthing the pressure manifold via the process connection or another suitable method.  This is particularly important if the equipment is installed in a zone 0 location.
4.Parts of the enclosure may be manufactured from light metal alloy.  In rare cases, ignition sources due to impact and friction sparks could occur.  This shall be considered during installation, particularly if the equipment is installed in a zone 0 location.
5.The process pressure shall not exceed the rating of the pressure sensors, as specified in the User Instructions.

DETAILS OF CERTIFICATE CHANGES (for issues 1 and above):
 

Issue 1 – this Issue introduced the following changes:

1The value of two safety resistors was reduced and three capacitors were added, this has affected the entity parameters, the product description and the marking being amended accordingly (Note: refer to revision 0 of this certificate for parameters applicable to previous versions of these products).
2The condition of certification clause 3 was clarified, the overall intention being unchanged.
